AMELIE GOMET

Amélie Gomet

“My approach to jewelry is informed by my dual training: teaching Fine Arts in Sculpture (in New York and Brussels) and discovering several jewelry techniques at the Jeanne Toussaint Institute in Brussels (injection casting, jewelry, setting, filigree, contemporary).

I now work primarily with the lost-wax technique. I love the variety of textures possible with this technique as well as the reproduction and casting methods inherent to it. This ancestral know-how allows me to design pieces with varied curves and detailed volumes while remaining contemporary and conceptual.

I like to infuse my work with visual concepts (ready-made, found objects, photography, poetry) while showcasing artisanal craftsmanship. Thus, when my jewelry is not being worn, it becomes small works of art displayed in the collector’s home.”

Values

Amélie’s jewelry showcases ancestral craftsmanship in favor of poetic and original designs. The pieces are made from sustainable and recyclable materials such as silver, brass, and gold. Each piece is handmade in her Brussels workshop.
