About Us
We are a family owned small business on a mission to make the best sandals!
In a time of fast fashion and cheap products, we feel that the world has had enough. Our commitment is to build products to love, that last and get better with time. All while being respectful of the materials we use, the hands that make our products, and this planet which we all share.
We refuse to contribute to a disposable world and we encourage everyone to start buying better, consuming less, and to step outside and enjoy this planet!
The Team
Bill Schmitz
A product designer with a background in leather craft, Bill set off to create the perfect sandal in 2016 when he was frustrated with the quality and fit of what was on the market. After 2 years of prototyping and testing, the Original Wanderer was born and he founded The Sole Workshop as a way to make one of a kind products that are built to last.
Bill is a former Floridian who knows a thing or two about wearing sandals daily and is a lover of all water & air sports. He is also a US national & World champion skydiver. From his atelier in Belgium, he proudly oversees each pair that we ship to satisfied clients all over the world.
Dana
Dana uses her love of life to bring a ray of sunshine to the workshop and to our communications.
About Our Sandals
Handmade Quality & Craftsmanship
Each pair is handmade in small batches in our atelier which ensures that no expense was spared to give you the highest quality product. Attention to detail goes into every stitch!

Bespoke
Due to high demand and the size of our small team, bespoke ordering is currently on hold until further notice. We hope to be able to offer this option again soon. View our Bespoke page to see some of our creations that we have made in the past.
Made to Measure
We believe fit to be the most important aspect to any article of clothing or footwear! A flip flop sandal has no laces nor adjustable straps and one size simply does not fit all. Luckily for you, we think differently and crafting your pair to your size is what we do best. If you think you are in need of a custom fit, you may contact us when it’s your turn for size and or made to measure advice.
Durability
We design all of our products for the longest possible life, giving you something that will share your journey for a very long time. We use thicker leathers, reinforced or pre-stretched straps that won’t stretch over time, and the use of both hand & machine stitching to give an extra measure of security.
A long product life is something we value. That is why we guarantee the craftsmanship on everything we make to not let you down until you wear through the leather or rubber sole.
Leather & Materials
Each leather is hand selected at the tanneries and suppliers we work with. Comfort, durability, and quality are the criteria we use when selecting our materials and we settle for nothing less. Feel the difference…

Eat Dust

Eat Dust is a Belgian denim brand founded in 2010 by longtime friends Rob Harmsen & Keith Hioco in the city of Antwerp.
Both were raised on a diet of skateboarding and a healthy dose of punk rock, which instilled a DIY attitude in them. With years of experience in the fashion world – including work for brands as varied as Raf Simons, Essentiel, Diesel, G-Star and Lee – they decided the time was right to venture out on their own.
At the heart of Eat Dust lies Rob & Keith’s headstrong and rebellious nature. They merge classic menswear and their love for denim with a wide range of influences, drawing from old Western styles, military wear, Americana, motorcycling, skateboarding and musical subcultures. Always with an open mind and a need to push forward. The result is a contemporary lifestyle brand with an outspoken attitude.
Eat Dust was founded on the principle of an uncompromising vision and the pursuit of quality, integrity and originality. This includes taking a stand against many of the appalling practices of today’s fashion industry. All production, sourcing and fabric development is retained in Europe, because Eat Dust attaches great importance to craftsmanship, tradition, expertise, human dignity and respect. Plus, proximity makes working together a lot easier.
Eat Dust does things their own way, with conviction and according to principles they determine to be crucial. Staying humble is key, because what’s right for Eat Dust may not be right for everyone else.Eat Dust believes that a responsible and engaged brand is a healthy one, but that doesn’t mean it’s a perfect company. Far from it. But it’s a hell of a good place to start.

Kamo Gutsu
Kamo GutsuMore Info

Kamo-Gutsu was created in 2014 by Freddy Dreesens, who was at that time
one of the owners of the Belgian shoe company The Velvet Factory.
Besides creating men and women shoes for fashion labels we thought it would be nice
to think outside the box and create something that wasn’t on the market yet:
fresh shoes with some fun and wit, lots of color, but still very wearable and comfortable.
The first collection premiered during the MICAM shoe fair in Milan and the rest is history:
today we distribute Kamo-Gutsu in 8 countries where shoe- and fashion retailers present
our footwear as the “happy misfits” in a sometimes boring shoe world.
We develop two collections per year, manufactured in the Italian Marche region,
famous for its artisan shoes with a high quality standard.
Since December 2020 Kamo-Gutsu is created and distributed by SHUZ.63,
the company owned by the designer and instigator of the brand.

CELEBRATING WOMEN SINCE 2001
LolaLiza was founded in 2001 by three entrepreneurs who cherished the same wish: to design fashionable and affordable fashion for all women.
At LolaLiza, we believe that outer appearance reflects the inner soul, which is why it is our aim to dress confident women confidently. Each woman is beautiful, and deserves to feel alike. Therefore our customers can always count on the best service – with a smile!
Lolawhat? L-o-l-a-L-i-z-a !
Our name refers to two personal traits shared by all women: mystery and charm. While ‘Lola’ alludes to the sexy, mysterious side of women, ‘Liza’ highlights her gentle and kind-hearted personality. Women indeed have more than just one quality, and LolaLiza allows you to display them all, every single day.
EMPOWERED WOMEN
EMPOWER WOMEN
What makes us stand out? Let’s start with our ultimate favorite: the dress! Mini, midi or maxi, there is not a single piece of clothing that says femininity like the dress does. But women don’t just look their best in a dress, of course.
That’s why our collections always include playful jumpsuits, cool shorts, comfy pants and cute skirts as a fixed value in our collections. What more? Prints and color, of course! Each LolaLiza garment is defined by its unique print or combines the most beautiful hues and colors.
LOLALIZA IS A PROUD, 100% BELGIAN FASHION BRAND.
The largest part of our collections is made “in house”, in our headquarters situated in the heart of Brussels. We create fashion for women with spunk who love expressing their personality. For women who are not afraid to show who they truly are – beautiful in every way.
We design fashion for you. Women have the power to determine their own success and are even more empowered to do so in an outfit that allows them to completely be themselves.
Sexy, comfy, elegant, or extra festive? LolaLiza has got you covered on any occasion. What’s more? Our clothing is available in a wide range of sizes to ensure every woman can both feel and look good.
OUR VALUES
SIMPLICITY
UNITY
PASSION
EXCELLENCE
RESPECT
BUSINESS ETHICS
At LolaLiza, we highly value respect for our planet and our colleagues. That’s why we very much believe that doing business sustainably and in a socially responsible manner is the only way to continue creating our colorful and affordable collections in the long term.
Consequently, we think it is extremely important that the whole of our production process – from the tiniest button to the most complex print – is always in line with the International Labour Standards, which protect the rights of workers.
OUR COLLECTIONS

by our own LolaLiza designers? Our designers create all LolaLiza garments “in house”, in our headquarters in the heart of Brussels. At headquarters, they continuously deploy their creativity and expertise to develop refreshing, colorful collections.
Did you know that our collections are made
Our designers closely follow the latest trends, to which our clothing is constantly adjusted. New designs, fabrics, colors and eventually our collections find their origin when our designers merge their ideas with the latest fashion trends.
And things move fast at LolaLiza; new items are added to our collections each week. As a result, we can guarantee feminine, trendy and colorful fashion – day after day.
LOLALIZA FROM 2001-TODAY
LolaLiza has been celebrating women since 2001 and wants to keep the party going. Since the foundation of LolaLiza, our colleagues have been committed every day to help our customers dress fashionably and with confidence. Today, LolaLiza boasts over 100 stores across 4 different countries. We are a leading retailer in the Belgian fashion industry, but also leave our mark on the Luxembourgian, Dutch and French market.
The future is digital, and we are well aware of that. Besides focusing on our stores, we increasingly concentrate on digitalization, e-commerce and –to be even more close to our customers- personalisation. This way, we inspire thousands of women online on a daily basis through our fun and easily accessible web shop. In short, a lot has changed since 2001, when LolaLiza first started with only 7 stores in Belgium.
The timeline below illustrates how we have grown from a local family business into an international women’s brand.
