Very Important Pixels is a fresh brand that features iconic pixel portraits on fashionable tops and sweaters. Inspired by 80s video games, Belgian designer Kristof Saelen has developed an original and unique style in which he handcrafts his works pixel by pixel

Very Important Pixels™ is a series of illustrations inspired by icons from the past and present. Each pixel portrait has been manually crafted starting from a blank canvas.

A selected collection of works was featured on apparel and other fashionable merchandise and got picked up by world-renowned boutiques such as Kitson (LA), Patricia Field (NYC), Colette (Paris), Spectrum (Milan), Venturer (Tokyo) and many more. Online prominent mentions and interviews include features on Wired, El País (Spain), My Modern Met and numerous blogs and papers. T-shirts and merch are still available online.

Visit our Rarible collection to find limited edition collectibles, hosted on the Ethereum blockchain in the form of non-fungible tokens (NFTs). WHO WE ARE
Production Company Image Boulevard specializes in art direction, photography and graphic design for fashion and lifestyle content. At the helm of the company is Iris Rombouts with 27 years of experience. Over those years, she has put her stamp on the Belgium media landscape with the designing of important magazines, such as ELLE magazine Belgium – Belgique, Feeling, Feeling Wonen, Gael Maison, Knack Weekend and Nina Magazine.

I am a Belgian illustrator. I paint, draw, print and Photoshop images. I love working with different mediums, tools and shapes. I also love portraits. I find the human figure to be so full of everything, I could draw faces for the rest of my life. The way people think, behave, dress, talk, sing and all they do inspire me a lot and that really makes me want to portray them. Most of the time, Photoshop is the place where my images come together. I draw, paint, doodle, sketch and paste it all together in Photoshop trying to keep a handmade look but also to bring more to it by digitally retouching it. The feeling I want to convey with my images is something like:”great, he drew that, well done, but how did he get that look? How does that work?” Handmade yet slightly disturbing in the end.

I have three sisters, a beautiful wife, two young children and no pets. I find humans much more interesting and enough to look after. I was born in Belgium and I now live in Brussels. Traveled a lot. Held numerous jobs and finally settled on teaching. I teach at Saint-Luc in Brussels. When I do not teach, I draw and paint or I run the blog: jazzanddraw.com.

Frieda Degeyter

Frieda Degeyter studied Fashion Design at the Royal Academy of fine arts in Antwerp, Belgium.
From 1993 till now she worked for several labels.
In 1997 she launched her own collection.
At the moment she is still creating and working on different projects.

Barbara Degeyter

After graduating in Graphic Design in Antwerp in 1995, Barbara has been working for several years for Belgium based magazines.
Since 2001, she attends an open ceramics studio near Breda where she has further developed her interest for object design.

Take Shape studio has been launched in 2014. There are two of us in the team.

William Togni is a Graphic Designer, he has worked for several graphic studio’s and in the advertising field. He is specialized in branding and art direction.

Marjorie Vandriessche is an Art Historian, she is specialized in coordinating and producing events. She also writes a lot, for Dklikk magazine, her blog and on social medias. She’s in charge of the account managing of the studio.

We love sincere design with pure forms and clear messages. Together we build visual identities from print to screen, for small and medium companies with a special care on consistency, logic, details, typography and colors.

We are willing to share ideas and having a good communication with our clients.
