Milestones
1880 – First signs of industrial activities in Marke (Belgium). Mr. Polydor Benoot starts a small company specialized in industrial process machinery servicing.
1921 – Michel Van de Wiele, in succession to his father in law Mr. Polydor Benoot, starts with the construction of weaving looms.
1984 – Start-up of a sales and distribution unit in Greenville (South Carolina),U.S.A.
1986 – Acquisition of Wittendal SA (France), thus enabling in-house jacquard machine manufacturing.
1987 – Establishment of Michel Van de Wiele GmbH in Viersen, Germany after acquisition of the know-how and industrial processes of major competitor in the velvet weaving machinery market : Güsken
1993 – ISO-9002 certified
1995 – ISO-9001 certified
1996 – Establishment of Michel van de Wiele Service Center in Istanbul, Turkey.
1999 – Acquisition of Bonas machine Company Ltd. (U.K). manufacturer of electronic jacquard machines for flat weaving machines.
2000 – Acquisition of all shares of IRO AB-sweden (including ROJ – Memminger-IRO), manufacturer of prewinders for weaving and knitting machines with production facilities in Sweden, Germany, Italy, USA, Taiwan and China
2002 – Establishment of IRO (Wuxi) Technology Co. Ltd. In Wuxi Jiang Su, China
2006 – Building of two new factories in China (production service 20.000 m²)
2011 – Acquisition of “Protechna” in Germany. Active in Quality assurance in textiles.
2013 – Acquisition of Cobble in UK. Tufting machine manufacturer
2013 – starting up of aluminium foundry in Nanjing China.
2014 – Acquisition of JTS Italy – manufacturer of harnesses for flat and velvet weaving machines
2014 – start up of first Van de Wiele extrusion line
2015 – Acquisition of “Superba SA” in France –manufacturer of heat-setting and space-dyeing machines
2016 – Establishment of Cobble – Van de Wiele LTD Co. Ltd. – Production of spare parts and gauges for tufting machines
2017 – Establishment of Van de Wiele (China) Textile Machinery Co. Ltd. – Production of jacquard machines for the Chinese market..
2019 – Acquiring a majority position in the Bejimac group, – manufacturer of textile finishing machines
2021: Acquisition of “SAVIO GROUP” in Italy – the world leader in the yarn finishing sector, operating in the design, manufacturing and distribution of winding machines, quality control devices and electronic boards for the textile industry. It has factories in Italy, China, India, Belgium, Germany and Switzerland.

Our timeline

Our company, then called Valvan Metaalconstructie, starts producing flax drying systems.
1973
Valvan Metaalconstructie expands its activities to the recycling industry with the production of textile waste and baling presses.
1975
Valvan Metaalconstructie starts developing their own waste containers.
1997
The company splits into Valvan Baling Systems and Valvan Containers & Milieutechniek.
2010
Valvan Baling Systems continues to grow in size by taking over Gualchierani Baling Systems.
2020
Valvan Baling Systems acquires Agila and expands its capabilities to include rubber milling.
2023
Valvan Baling Systems rebrands to Valvan to include their growing sorting and automation capabilities.
