I’m Helga De Filette, a creative—but above all, technical—pattern nerd.
Thanks to my exceptional spatial awareness, I developed an eye for the beauty of shapes and lines from a young age. Combined with a love of geometry and mathematics, this led to my passion for technical drawing.
In addition to my secondary education, I completed a three-year program in Modeling and Pattern Drafting, as well as a Fashion Technology program at the University of Applied Sciences Ghent (HOGENT). In this ever-changing sector, full of innovation and evolution, I also find it necessary to stay abreast of the latest trends.
After over 20 years of experience in the lingerie and fashion industry as a modeler and pattern maker, I decided to pursue freelance work.
The name “Akkuraat” represents my pursuit of a perfect pattern with beautiful, organic lines and a fit that meets high quality standards. Akkuraat also stands for working and delivering the patterns within the agreed-upon timeframe.
Luxury materials like lace, embroidery, and tulle, as well as stretch materials, hold no secrets for me. Their technical aspects add value and present a challenge in achieving the perfect pattern.
Founded as a family knitwear factory in Zottegem, Belgium in 1932 by August De Clercq, DECCA shifted its focus to cycling in 1970 during the era of Belgian icon Eddy Merckx. Today DECCA is based in Gavere, the epicenter of the Flemish Ardennes.
We are one of the few offering qualitative after-sales service. Our Belgium based atelier is also at your service for all repairs: broken zippers, loosened seams, replacing a chamois, repairing stitches…
