The trunks belonging to Delphine Quirin’s grandmother were veritable treasure chests when she was a child. The dresses, suits and costumes that they contained would later go on to provide the future designer with an important source of inspiration. And already as a child, hats stood out above everything else as a thing of wonder.
History of Art studies completed later in life at the University of Liège left Delphine with a real store of data and a clear preference for the talents of artists as diverse as Vermeer, De La Tour and Edward Hopper.
After training as a fashion designer, Delphine set up her own design business in 1996 and started creating her first hats – unique and tailor-made creations essentially to accompany formal dress. She then opened a shop in the historic centre of Liège and continued to create the framework for what would soon become not just a business but an expression of her personality. Being open to a wide range of influences, she soon discovered knitting and this then gradually become her preferred production technique. She really played a trump card in Paris in 1999 when she drew attention to a mini-collection of gloves and scarves – and of course hats – created out of mohair and boiled wool.
Delphine had found her niche! She was now creating regular collections, and presenting and selling them at large trade fairs in several European countries, as well as in the US and Japan.
By following her instincts and desires, Delphine has reached her goal. She has elevated the hat back to its rightful position of elegance, saving it from the stagnation of long-produced designs. She has made it a practical and light daily accessory that can be worn in all circumstances. Delphine’s hats are a subtle mix of colours and designs, reflecting our own contemporary mix of cultures and ideas. And although they do not follow ephemeral fashion trends, they are in tune with the world around them and each piece tells its own story
Delphine is proud of her Liège roots and refuses to use industrial production methods. Her hats are made using traditional techniques by a small team of knitters, embroiderers and seamstresses, enabling her to oversee all the production stages, and at the same time, to take meticulous care in order to ensure that all of her knits are perfectly finished.

When it was created (2003), SMARTWEAR S.A. was interested in new technologies in the world of the interface between man and his environment (intelligent textiles). SMARTWEAR has collaborated in various research programs creating the link between the world of research and the textile sector, in particular in the control of the needs for integration of sensors within textiles.
In 2008, SMARTWEAR refocused its activities on a technological axis more focused on the concept of wireless sensors and data repatriation networks. A first capital increase enabled it to continue its research and development efforts in collaboration with MULTITEL.
Today (2010), SMARTWEAR presents itself as a solution provider in the fields of RFID integration (Radio Frequency IDentification) and positioning and more particularly in terms of local positioning system (LPS) for confined environments.
As a spin-off of the Multitel research center, SMARTWEAR has remained close to the academic world and participates in innovative tracking and tracing projects. Its capitalization is mainly held by the company CEDREBEL, which finances many of the projects resulting from the research center.

Jewellery industry expert with over 10 years of experience in the design, workmanship, creation, marketing and sales of fashion and fine jewellery underscored by a long family pedigree of the craft and broader luxury industries.
Born and raised in Belgium from a family of Jewellery makers, my career began in luxury real estate.
This exposure built valuable foundations, the key skills and knowledge to not only position, market and sell a premium product, but also engage with an affluent customer and understand their bespoke needs.
I launched my namesake and award-winning brand, Sara Esther Jewellery in 2013. The brand has grown globally through an integrated and considered strategy, supporting over 10 wholesale stockists in 6 country. I oversee and manage the entire process in close collaboration with an intimate support team I have assembled from over Europe. This process extends across conceptual development and international sourcing through to production, retail partnerships, e-commerce, social media, public relations, private clients, and influencer marketing. The brand has been awarded, selected for the prestigious Princess Astrid Economic Mission in Korea, and then be hand-chosen by The Bon Marché in Paris for an exclusive pop-up over the seasonal period. Through my relationships with my retail partners, the brand has continuously featured in titles including Vogue, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, and is loved by a carefully curated group of digital influencers.
It is this 360 understanding of the fine jewellery market and the processes involved to not only design an exceptional product – but also make it commercially viable – that provides me with a unique and valuable lens on the industry.
