Who am I?
An Vandenberk is a designer and artisan from Brussels—a maker, pattern maker, and certified leather craftswoman. Her work stems from a love of form, people, nature, and honest materials, with an eye for beauty and sustainability.
Creativity was in her blood from an early age. As a teenager, she designed and sewed her own clothes. At fourteen, she made her first “recycled” handbag from old jeans and leather boots—a precursor to the philosophy she espouses today: nothing is just waste.
Her work stems from a deep affinity with modern art and architecture. She draws inspiration from artists such as Eric Beaudoin, Niyona, Raf Simons, Gerrit Rietveld, and Toyo Ito—influences visible in her interplay of form, tension, and tranquility.
An earned a degree in Interior Design from LUCA School of Arts and was officially recognized as an artisan and pattern maker by Syntra Brussels.
As An Vandenberk, designer craftswoman Brussels, she combines intuition with craftsmanship — in leather and fabric. Apartments that speak with quiet strength and lasting purpose.
Mission
As a designer and artisan, I strive to create clothing and leather accessories that last, are meaningful, and made with care. Each piece begins with a story, a material, a personality—with an eye for timelessness and impact.
My mission is to design with respect for people and the planet. Using sustainable materials like bamboo textiles, residual leather, and deadstock, I collaborate with European and ethical workshops. In this way, I aim to contribute to a conscious and valuable fashion practice.
I believe in clothing and accessories as personal statements—meaningful, responsible, and made to last.
This is where fashion and integrity meet. This is the vision of An Vandenberk, an artisan designer from Brussels.
Vision
As a pioneer in conscious design, I envision a world where every stitch tells a story—of individuality, care, and timelessness. My practice unites sustainable materials, ethical collaborations, and artisanal craftsmanship that honors tradition while shaping the future.
For me, luxury isn’t about excess, but depth, emotion, and respect. Fashion is a medium for positive change, balancing people and the planet. Without labels or boundaries, I design for the individual—each piece is an invitation to interpretation, expression, and connection.
Rooted in Brussels, I continue this path as An Vandenberk, a Brussels-based artisan designer with a vision for sustainable fashion and wearable art.
“Luxury only becomes meaningful when it carries a soul, not just a name.”
